Case Study Overview

Key Results

The original website was an early-stage template-based site with scattered product displays, lacking scenario-based presentations and in-depth technical specifications, failing to meet the selection needs of professional procurement specialists. During the independent website upgrade, the product system was reorganized, and scenario-based solution modules along with a technical documentation center were established. The entire project took three months to complete. Specific results are as follows:

Website Performance: Lighthouse score increased from an average of 95 after the upgrade (achieved through static site generation + edge computing acceleration, significantly improving global access experience).

Website Traffic: Average monthly visits were under 150 before the upgrade. After the upgrade, through solution-focused content + technical blog operations, organic traffic increased by 550% within eight months, with overseas traffic accounting for 70%.

Website Inquiries: The first B2B inquiry was received in the 3rd month after launch. Inquiries then continued to climb, stabilizing at over 50 per month from the 12th month onward.

Website Orders: In the 9th month, a hotel smart room renovation order worth $120,000 (approximately RMB 860,000) was secured. By the 13th month, an annual framework agreement was signed with a European smart home integrator, with an estimated annual procurement value exceeding $800,000.

Project Background

The client’s original website was built in 2017 using a generic template. Product displays were primarily images with basic parameters, lacking critical decision-making content such as application scenario demonstrations, compatible device lists, API documentation, and case studies. For years, business relied mainly on exhibitions, Alibaba International Station, and repeat customers, with the website generating virtually no effective sales leads.

With the explosive growth of the global smart home market, particularly the surge in demand for whole-home smart solutions in Europe and America, the client sought to establish a professional brand image through their website and expand overseas direct client and integrator channels. However, lacking experience in digital content operations, they were initially skeptical about the website’s customer acquisition capabilities, believing that only platform traffic or exhibitions could generate leads.

After in-depth communication, we recognized their comprehensive product certifications and compatibility with major ecosystems (Alexa, Google Home, Apple HomeKit) as differentiated competitive advantages, but they lacked effective scenario-based presentations and technical content systems. Therefore, we decided to abandon the old template site and rebuild it as a solution-centric, technology-driven professional independent website.

Our Approach

Conducted in-depth analysis of smart home market trends in Europe, America, and the Middle East, researching the website architectures, scenario-based presentations, and technical content strategies of 12 international competitors and industry leaders.

Leveraged Google Ads Keyword Planner and smart home community forum trending terms to identify high-value keywords such as “smart plugs,” “smart lighting systems,” “security sensors,” and “whole-home smart solutions,” developing a layered keyword strategy.

Established scenario-based solution modules for different application scenarios including residential, hotel, and office, providing depth content such as recommended product combinations, system architecture diagrams, installation guides, and case studies.

Built a technical documentation center offering API documentation, compatible device lists, certification downloads, and developer guides to meet the technical requirements of integrators and developers.

Designed a smart product selection tool to help customers quickly filter suitable products and solutions based on room type, functional requirements, and budget range.

Guided the client on regularly updating new product launches, firmware upgrades, industry trends, and project case studies, while using data monitoring tools for continuous conversion path optimization.

Client Testimonial

Previously, our website was just a product catalog that left no impression on visitors. Now it’s completely different. Many integrator clients say our website feels like an international brand’s—comprehensive technical documentation, clear solution presentations—which significantly shortens their selection time. What pleases me most is the quality of inquiries we receive now. Many come with specific projects, giving us a conversion rate several times higher than before.
